disney joy

it's blog hop thursday (well friday for me)
i didn't want to miss out on this week!
i was meaning to blog all day but errands, birthday party, and our ice cream social took priority :)

this week's hop is all about joy that the parks bring you or have brought to you.
Disneyland is my therapy, it's always a carefree day and we will keep it that way for years to come.

this picture i am sharing is from our most recent trip
we went on Tower of Terror at night and got to catch glimpses of the firework show from way up
awesome blossom!

look at our happy faces!
(we are in the very front)

we always have the most joyous time!!!

disneyland... the perfect family date

it's blog hop day!
yay!
i have been MIA from the blog hop hosted by Babes in Disneyland for the past couple of weeks due to a crazy couple end of the school year weeks!
And this weeks theme is all about family!
and a perfect topic for me over here :)

Disneyland is a place for us that we can be carefree and goofy. all 4 of us.
it's a place where we dive into imagination, creativity and marvel.
i love sharing the new things i learn about this place and the man that made it possible, with my family.
passing on the love of this place to my children is a dream come true for me.
i know i am blessed to live only an hour away and get to visit at least once a month.
Walt had it all right, from the beginning. his dream became a reality, and to this day his dream never ends.

these photos were taken when we surprised the kids with a late Christmas present...
Disneyland passes renewed!!
This was also a very very crowded day, we almost didn't get it!
they actually had to stop letting people in due to maximum capacity, craziness i tell ya!
but the important thing... we still had good family fun!

here are a few quotes from Walt himself,
that inspire me to always remember to play.

"You're dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway."
walt disney

"We believed in our idea - a family park where parents and children could have fun- together."
walt disney

and my all time favorite walt quote:

"Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world."

it's time to go hoppin'

it's all about pirates... arr-matey!
Pirates of the Caribbean is a family favorite at the Disneyland Resort
and we love all the movies (well hubby and i do at least, the kids have yet to watch 'em)
and in honor of this week's hop...

we were at Disneyland the day after the premiere... yup missed it by one day.
people were working hard at Rivers of America to take down the HUGE movie theater and screen that was set up the night before. really really cool.

can't wait for this flick to hit theaters on May 20!

go here to read Babes in Disneyland's review of the movie (yes, be jealous that she got to see it already because I sure am!) :)

have fun hoppin'

blog hop! disney decor!

welcome if you are visiting from blog hop thursday!
it's all about decor!!!
if i had it my way, my whole house would look like new orleans square, oh wait main street, oh wait fantasyland... get the picture? lol
it's not that hard to bring in some magic of the park inside your own home, go watch this video over at Babes in Disneyland to see how easy it is... especially around the holidays.

here are a few shots of my favorite disney decor in our home

snowglobes...
thank you hubby for putting up with my snowglobe obsession
(i don't have all of them displayed at once)

Thomas Kincaid

and of course the kids' bathroom is decked out!

have fun hoppin'

yummy disney

it's thursday! and that means Disney Bog Hop :)
this week is all about food! any disney food!

I am going to categorize my favorite places to grab a bite to eat by "land"
i like quick stops for food, but it is always nice to have a sit down meal and take a breather.

Main Street U.S.A
so many yummy treats here!
like Main Street Cone Shop and the Corn Dog Cart
don't forget to stop in the candy shops to pick up some tasty treats!

Tomorrowland
i have some bad news about this land... i hate, well maybe that's to strong of a word when referring to Disney, but we never eat a meal when we are in this area of the park, unless we want to grab a quick piece of fruit at the fruit stand. sorry Tomorrowland lovers, but in my opinion the rides, not the food make this land awesome.

Fantasyland
we hardly ever eat here either, but looking at the dining experiences I do want to try Troubadour Tavern.  If you are ever craving a bratwurst head on over to this pit stop to fuel your body.

Adventureland
Bengal BBQ. all the way for this land. the veggies (especially bacon wrapped asparagus) melt in your mouth.

 Critter Country
we have only ever eaten at the Hungry Bear Restaurant in this corner of the park. not bad. not great. i do like the location over looking the Rivers of America. If you are looking for a quite place to eat I would recommend here.

Frontierland
Ranco del Zocalo Restaurante has pretty good mexican food. If you are anything like me you l-o-v-e mexican food and crave it almost everyday. I would recommend the 4 cheese enchilada plate for a "never fail to be satisfied craving."

Mickey's Toon Town
this town has some some quick stops if you are running on an empty stomach and are stuck watching your little ones play at Goofy's or go exploring through Donald's.  Pluto's Dog House is on the fav list just becasue of the hot dogs. I don't know what it is about Disney dogs (the ones you eat) but they are simply the best I have ever had. Is it the bun? Or is it the dog? Have one and let me know what you think!

New Orleans Square
my favorite place to eat in the park! from bread bowls at Royal Street Veranda to having a nice sit down meal (and being served) at Cafe Orleans. Or enjoying a nice dark, cool meal at the Blue Bayou, you will not be disappointed with the food in this area of the park. Disneyland's best if you ask me :)

California Adventure Park
i won't go from land to land here considering we have only eaten at a few spots but those spots aren't disappointing!
Award Wieners want another good hot dog? go here :)
Bur-r-r Bank Ice Cream not only is the ice cream good, but it's in a train!
Pacific Wharf Cafe sandwiches, clam chowder, kid friendly food. a one stop shop for the whole family (and it is located next to chinese and mexican cuisine so you don't have to travel far if that menu doesn't sound good to your tummy)
Cove Bar my husband always stops here to unwind for a bit, whatever makes him happy so he keeps taking us!! Cheers to that!
Karl Strauss Truck it is nice that CA serves adult friendly drinks. when it's hot I am one of those people walking around with the bright green cup :) cheers again!

There you have it a run down on some yummy dining places at the parks at the Disneyland Resort. Can't wait to read all of the other blogs on the hop and see what they have to say!

take a look at where to eat at the parks!
