i have super picky kids so both of them were a little hesitant to try "noodles in hot dogs"

and they had fun eating them...
whoever made up the rule "don't play with your food" has never seen these!

Edible Rattles

More Flower and Flour work :)
(more pics to come...)

Shawna's Aunt asked us if we would do the cupcakes and flowers for her daughter's baby shower. Of course we said yes!
I got the idea from Betty Crocker.
An adorable way to eat a cupcake :)

I haven't seen the pictures from the day of the shower, but I am way excited to see them!

Orchid Cupcakes

My in-laws recently renewed their wedding vows & asked me to make the cupcakes :)
Of course I said "YES"

I did my research & found that the modern symbol of 28 years of marriage is the orchid.
Perfect!
Went to Joann's Fabric Store and purchased silk orchids for toppers.

They turned out so elegant.
And were oh so yummy!

Pony Palace

I did it! I created a Pony Palace for our Abby Babbs. I had so much fun making the decorations. The "Happy Birthday Abby" sign is what I am most proud of :)

Pin the rainbow on Rainbow Dash.

My homemade birthday sign :)

The MLP logo I found and printed on cardstock.

Abby's MLPs pre-presents. Yes she now has a total of 24!

Tie Dye rainbow Cupcakes.
These are my favorite cupcakes I've made. Simple and Fun!

This has been my favorite party theme of hers to date. From her choosing My Little Ponies to the color scheme that went along with it. It was fun and bright!

Happy Birthday!

And a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who came and celebrated with us.

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Tea Party Birthday Theme

Hani's 4th Birthday Party Cupcakes.

I had so much fun making these cupcakes! I decided to try something new and use "nut & party mix" cups as the cupcake liners...I loved how they turned out.

Stay tuned for pictures of the party...Abby Babbs got to meet Ariel :)

I think I'll stick with C&H :)

I decided over the weekend to try a new recipe for Buttercream Icing. I made the Wilton Recipe for Buttercream, and all I have to say is I am never making it again :( Although it was light and fluffy compared to the C&H Cane recipe, it tasted awful. Wilton called for vegetable shortening, which in my opinion made it to greasy for cupcakes.

If anyone has ever made the Wilton Recipe, maybe some tips??

Here is the recipe if you want to prove me wrong :)

Here is my favorite, C&H Cane.

An Easy but Yummy Dinner

The BEST Chili Dogs that I've ever made!

Ingredients:
Left over chili (this was some good chili I made!)
Ballpark Hot Dogs..the big plump ones.
Hoagie Rolls
Red Onion
Cheese
Sour Cream

These were GREAT on Hoagie Rolls, the hot dog fit just perfect and we filled it up with toppings...mmmmmm.....

Note: These Chili Dogs are meant to be eaten with a fork (a big one).

Sooooo goooooood!

In the meantime I tried to get a few cute shots of this little man, but he was so not interested.

And my little helper.
Note: She is wearing her cupcake apron...and I was wearing mine :)

Another Bake Day

Baby Shower Cupcakes. My first "job" you could say. I baked cupcakes for Shawna's friend who was throwing a baby shower for her best friend. You still with me? It was so fun to be creative with certain elements!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Daddy opening presents

Sam turned 27 on September 17th! Hooray for Daddy turning another year older. We were having so much fun I really didn't get that great of pictures! The memories are there though!

Orange and Blue

Katrina, my BFF, let me do the honors of making cupcakes for her son Ewan's 1st birthday party! Cupcakes are my FAVORITE thing to bake, they are so much fun and so much easier than cutting a cake for everyone! These particular cupcakes were so retro and fit in perfectly with Katrina's... I mean Ewan's theme ;)

Please visit All Things Ewan and Bunny to see more pictures of the BIG Celebration!

You Can't Take the FUN out of FUNFETTI!

Mixing the batter

Eating the batter

Ta-da! FunFetti is so FUN!

Cupcakes are my favorite thing to bake, in case you haven't noticed ;) I am all about the box, why try to obtain perfection when you can buy it for 88 cents? I have been under the weather and have been trying to find ways to spend time with Sammy and Abby AND entertain them at the same time. Today was CUPCAKE DAY! As you can see by the picture I totally let them go to town on decorating :) Hopefully I will feel better soon so we can get some outdoor fun in!

Slider Cupcakes

I made these yummy cupcake treats for Fourth of July. Very festive and fun!! It is super easy to make, but very time consuming. Here are the directions if you'd like to give it a try :)

Ingredients:
1 box yellow cake mix
1 box chocolate cake mix
1 can of white frosting
red food coloring
yellow fondant (cheese)
green fondant (lettuce)
sesame seeds
toothpicks

Directions:
Bake both cakes mixes according to the box
while cooling make cheese squares out of yellow fondant (roll out fondant very thin)
roll out green fondant very thin and slice/cut it into tiny pieces. (I used a pizza slicer)
In a separate bowl dye the white frosting red (I only used about 1/4 of the can of frosting)

Assembling:
Cut the yellow cupcakes just below the top of the cupcake
To apply the sesame seeds pour onto plate and dip the tops of the "buns" in the sesame seeds
Cut the chocolate cupcakes into thirds (I discarded the very tips of the cupcakes)
Frost the bottom half of the yellow cake very thin
Place the chocolate "burger" on top of the frosting
Place a piece of "cheese" on the "burger"
Place the "lettuce" on top of the "cheese"
And then top it off with the top of the "bun"
Stick a toothpick in all of them for the final touch

Ad there you have it! A Slider dessert!

My Dream Mixer

KitchenAid KSM152PSCP Custom Metallic Series Mixer - - SATIN COPPER with Pouring Shield

Shared via AddThis

Yes, I know, I like the one of the most expensive ones the best. But the copper would look SO GOOD in my kitchen! But considering I don't own any type of electric mixer, I would be happy with a hand held :)
