Although I don't have pictures of my most recent cupcake experience, I wanted to share with you a yummy bakery located in West Los Angeles.
Shawna, Nicole, and I took a day and ventured to Los Angeles (by the way, so glad that I don't have to deal with that traffic on a daily basis) to see a taping of Chelsea Lately, and of course had to take a detour to feed the bellies some sweets!
We found where we had to be for the show and then off we were, down W. Pico to find Buttercup Bakery. We almost missed it considering it is a very small little shop, but our navigator Shawna spotted it!
The shop had a good authentic feel to it, and what was really cool was that you could actually see the bakers decorating the cakes!
I sampled the buttercake with a cookies & cream frosting.... DELICIOUS!!!
This was one of the best cupcakes I have ever eaten (and considering I had to practically inhale it due to no food while waiting in line to see chelsea). It was moist and flavorful. The frosting wasn't to overpowering and the texture was light and airy... just the way i like it.
And for $ .90 for a mini and $2.25 for a regular sized I felt like I was stealing the cupcake.
If you are ever in that area I definitely recommend stopping by Buttercup Bakery.

rewind
before our camping vacation i packed in as many playdates as i could with the kids...
(2 sleep overs in a row, having friends over, and playing with the neighborhood crew)
after all they weren't going to see any of their friends for awhile.
abby had her bff over to scrapbook, do make-up, spray hair color, and manis and pedis were a must too!
these two are peas in a pod i tell ya!
they were so cute i just couldn't stop taking pictures of these blonde beauties
and of course i had to sneak in a beach trip...
where sammy was a boogie boarding machine
abby was a water bug
and addison decided the sand was just perfect
and what better way to say good bye to California for a week than to feed my tummy some yummy cupcakes from The Cake Cottage
the most delicious red velvet i have had yet
their cream cheese frosting is ah-mazing!
and we tasted their new chocolate mint...
delish!
their cake is so moist and their frosting is the perfect consistency
A+ from me!!
and stay tuned for stories and pics from our fantabulous camping trip!!

more sugar for my sweet tooth
my cupcake sidekick nicole brought me back cupcakes from Big Man Bakes when she made a quick trip to L.A.
they were yummy!
i sampled a red velvet mini which was tasty, not the best red velvet i've had but the caramel apple one... now that made my teeth and tummy very happy
and after trying on bridesmaids dresses and making the purchase we decided to reward ourselves with a trip to Truly Madly Sweetly
we sampled indecision and pink top
nicole's pick was indecision which was a marble cake with topped with a swirl of their vanilla and chocolate buttercream. delish and rich!
my choice was the pink top which was a vanilla bean cake topped with fresh strawberry buttercream
delish and sweet!
their cake is a great consistency, not to fluffy but not to dense
and their frosting is one of my favorites i have ever tried, not a heavy consistency but very flavorable.
if you are in the are you must check out this cupcake shop!
